Week 13: Let the transfers begin!

This week has been amazing! (como siempre!) Here's a quick run down of what I did.

Monday: Super P-day! Pretty much a bunch of missionaries from three zones got together and we played ultimate Frisbee and had a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of super cool people.

Tuesday: So the highlight of Tuesday was getting to smash Elder Steed's face in a cake. Twice! His birthday is next week, so since he was going to be leaving the area before his birthday, we decided to get him a cake. The spanish tradition for birthdays and cake, is that the person having the birthday has to take a bite of the cake (without silverware). And so that always turns into someone smashing your face into the cake! It was so funny! Then later that night we went to a members house, the Oroxoms, and they had made him a cake too. So I got to watch Elder Steed's face get smashed into a cake once again.

Wednesday: Transfer day! We said goodbye to Elder Steed today..... :( I will miss that weird kid so much! I get to stay here in the OCK 4th Spanish Branch with Hermana Snowden! I am so grateful! Hermana Snowden is an amazing missionary and I love her so much!
We had a huge miracle today. We had a lesson with Maria Mendez. She is a super sweet lady. The lesson was awesome! And at the end of it we asked her if she would say the closing prayer. She said "....ummm.... next time" She has said this every time since I have been here, so we decided to be persistent. After about 15 minutes of encouraging and testifying, she finally said the prayer! This was the first time I have witnessed and been a part of an investigators first prayer. It was amazing. The Spirit was so strong and I was so happy for her. I felt real joy and love in this moment. The joy and love that comes with missionary service.  She also agreed to pray about baptism! And specifically about the date of June 27th!!! I have to say that that was the crowning moment of the week.

Thursday: We had service at the Red Cross. Hermana Snowden and I, with the help of a couple other people, stuffed 625 pillow cases full of supplies for tornado precautions.

Friday: I'm pretty positive that our house got struck by lightning... We were sleeping and bamb! Lightning and thunder all at the same time! The thunder was so loud that it hurt my ears. My ears were ringing afterwards! So yup. we got hit by lightning.

Saturday: We had a mothers day breakfast with the branch in the morning. There was a huge turnout!!! All the men in the branch made breakfast and they put together a slideshow and it was super cute. I love the Hispanic people here. They know how to party.

Sunday: GEVOVEVA CAME TO CHURCH!!!!!! Man I was so happy! It has been quite the adventure to try to get this silly, fun 9 year old to church, but she came this week and that is all that matters! She loved it so much. And since she came this week she can get baptized! We have a date set for the 30th of this month. I really hope that it works out! Please please please keep her in your prayers.

Just another day knocking on doors.  Living the dream!!

Thank you so much for all of your support and love and prayers for me. I know that this work is the work of the Lord and that through the atonement we can all be healed. There is nothing more precious than the gift of the atonement. Please don't take it for granted. Get to know your Savior. Know how much he loves you. He died for you. He knows you. He knows your pains and your sorrows. He is our Savior. He is our Redeemer. He is our Friend.

I love you all so much!!
