Week 56: #aleluya

Merry Spring Break!!!

I don't know if yall are on spring break, but Oklahoma is :) so all the little kids are running around crazy. It is way fun. We have been on bikes a lot this week and we have gotten to talk to so many little kids that are outside playing! That is actually how we meet Socorro! We talked to her kids playing outside and then she said "pasale!" which means come in! We taught her about the Book of Mormon and it was awesome.

So for those of you who don't know the church just came out with a new Easter video. It is AMAZING! I was blown away. I love it. Check it out and share it with your friends :) We are sharing it like crazy here in Oklahoma.  https://www.mormon.org/easter/follow-him

My companion is doing amazing. Hna Medeiros is outstanding and everyday she improves as a missionary and it is so cool to see! She teaches me waaaaaaaay more than I teach her Shout out to her parents for being amazing people and letting their daughter come on a mission so that she could teach me how to do missionary work :) She is a hard worker, and we have fun! Which is amazing. This gospel is joyful and sharing it with others is even more joyful :)  A few fun things that we did together this week. The elders dropped us off for an apt and the family didn't answer.... So we were stuck without a car, without bikes.... so we walked!!! we walked and talked and walked some more and had a lot of fun. We sure felt grateful for the car after that haha.

Yesterday we had an amazing lesson with the Deleon family. They are the family that was baptized about a month and half ago (my first week here in the south) We all loaded up into their car and drove to the temple. We walked around with them, took pictures, and then had an amazing lesson. I know that the power of the temple is real. It works miracles in us. Adriana (the mom) told us how she really wants to go inside. She said she doesn't know why, but something is pulling her in. She want's to feel that she is worthy and ready to enter again. I know that she can and it is all thanks to the atonement of Christ.

Miracle! Last Sunday Reyna came to church. She told us that she wanted to go back to the temple.  So we met with her this week. We talked about her past and her goals for the future. She has gone through a lot and still has a lotto work on, but the most amazing thing is that she is trying. She has the desire to change. That is the most important thing. After talking to her and after going to the temple with the Deleon family, I was reflecting I realized that I have been pushed and stretched and pulled in ways that I didn't even know were possible. I wish I could tell you about some of the internal battles that I have gone through and am going through every day. But there is no way to put it on paper. I've tried, but I just cant. But what I have learned from those fights and battles is far more important. There were a couple times when I just wanted to quit. But I trusted in the Lord's promise in 1 Nefi 3:7 He won't give us a commandment, or a trial that we can't overcome with him. Just like what we learn in the temple. Satan is given a little bit of power to tempt and try us, but we are given power, through Jesus Christ, to completely overcome Satan. Those promises become real in the mission. I have begun to see how they apply to me. I learn about the atonement. How it helps and aids me. How Christ is right there fighting with me. I also get to see other people learn and apply that too. I think of Bartolo. Man. He understood the atonement. He let it change him. He trusted in the promise in 1 Nefi 3:7 that he would be able to overcome his challenges if he turned to god. He saw that quickly and applied it. Some of us aren't so quick to listen to the spirit. I think of Roberto. He is still battling with a struggle that he has, but he knows that he can overcome it someday. I have learned so much from them and from everyone that I have met here in Oklahoma.

I love you all so much and I hope y'all have a wonderful week! sorry this email is kinda scatterbrained, but I know this church is true and I love being a missionary!
